Trevor is becoming one of the most accomplished country blues/ slide and rack harmonica players in the UK.  But it wasn’t always like that...

He started by playing in punk bands in the 80s and had a brief flirtation with the new romantics, until, one day, he walked into a record store and bought a harmonica and a Sonny Boy Williamson LP. That was the start of what has been a life-long love of playing, writing and developing the blues.

He is a founder member of BabaJack, and co-writer, with Becky Tate, of all the songs. He is also a fine craftsman with wood, and has combined his passions by making his ‘Wine Box’ guitars and Becky’s Cahon among other things.

Bec is the other founder member of BabaJack .  She got her African drum in the early 90s in the back streets of Tooting Bec and has been playing percussion and singing a wide variety of music ever since.

She’s not new to acoustic roots music.  She was very much part of the acoustic revival in London in the 90s , shared stages with the likes of David Gray, Clyde Stubblefield, Praying for the Rain, Bert Jansch...  But she didn’t really discover the blues until she met Trevor in 2002.

She’s now a complete convert to the blues and brings all her influences to her vocal and percussive style.  She and Trevor are the songwriting force behind the band.

Marc is the newest member of the band. Originally from Paris, he moved to England ten year ago.

He has a wealth of experience of folk, roots and classical music, and is classically trained on the double bass, as well as having played in Irish and Eastern European folk bands.

He brings a wonderful dimension to BabaJack’s original blues sound with his plucked and bowed bass.
